The focus of the bioorganic group is on the chemistry of oligomeric biomolecules, primarily on oligonucleotides.

The research interests may be divided to metallated oligonucleotides, liquid phase oligonucleotide synthesis, DNA-templated ligation, mechanistic studies on phosphodiester bond, artificial nucleases and nucleic acid-based drug delivery vehicles, including novel bionanomaterials.
